This study aims to analyse how soft solutions, which provide alternative and/or complementary responses to conventional solutions in addressing coastal erosion, are integrated into the NDCs (Nationally Determined Contributions) of the target countries and into guidance documents related to their climate and coastal agendas. It also offers a review of the different types of existing soft solutions and the potential for their use in the context of the study countries.

The recommendations from this study could contribute to updating the documents related to the climate and coastal agendas of the target countries and to taking into account, at the regional level, the opportunities offered by soft solutions in response to coastal risks.
