Mangroves Initiative - Soft Solutions in the Saint Louis MPA

A summary of the implementation of soft coastal protection solutions and monitoring results in the Saint-Louis MPA: March 2019-December 2020 has just been produced. It reports on the work carried out as part of the WACA FFEM project "Monitoring coastal risks and soft solutions in Benin, Senegal and Togo", and in particular on developments such as windbreaks (typhavelles) and reforestation (Casuarina equisetifolia plantations) that have been carried out to fix sand and promote dune reconstitution, thereby reducing exposure to coastal risks.
